In 2016 Jenny had been working hard and managing her cleaning company Maid - Sense for over ten years. With high standards the team were constantly adding new products and services to their offering, ensuring the best service possible for their clients, in particular holiday home owners. With many holiday home owners living out of the county it was important to provide a reliable service and feedback any crucial information with regards to maintenance etc to the clients.
The team noticed that all the bins were really full when guests were arriving. This was not a situation Jenny was happy with and the team were right behind her. Taking the initiative Jenny starting looking for a local company which could come and clear the waste before the new guests arrived.
Very quickly she realised there wasn’t such a business.
At the same time of this discovery Port Isaac Local Council announced that they would be stopping waste collection from all holiday homes, as they are classed as commercial.
Jenny went straight out, brought a van and a waste collection license and was up and running in time for the last collection by the council.

From there it’s been a lot of hard work and full steam ahead.
Jenny now has a fleet of 10 x 3.5 tonne tipper vans, and recently added a 7.5 tonne tipper and three long wheeled vans for all recycling and wedding collections.
Being the first specialised Holiday Home Waste Collection service in Cornwall, Jenny has developed the business around the needs of holiday home owners, understanding the nature of the business, the needs to the owner, cleaner, maintenance staff and of course guests. This couldn’t have been shown better than over the last few years with the constantly changing demands through lock down and beyond.
